Match the valve function to the system
BAV angle valves isolate a line manually or remotely. SECUVAC combines pump-side venting with system isolation on power loss. EV 016 meters gas into a vacuum system, while the DN10 power-failure valve opens when de-energised. Large ISO angle valves serve industrial lines and require controlled pressure equalisation before opening.
Pressure, conductance and sealing
Working pressure, opening differential, housing leak rate and seat leak rate describe different properties. Keep them separate when comparing valves. Conductance also differs from a pump’s pumping speed. Select elastomers, body material, bakeout limits and cleanliness for the gas and vacuum level.
Choose actuation and connections
Specify manual, pneumatic or electropneumatic operation, fail position, compressed-air pressure and pilot voltage. Check both flange faces and mounting orientation. DN250–1000 industrial valves need the cylinder at the top and have size-specific opening differential limits.
