Vacuum gauges, transducers and controllers from Girovac, with help selecting the right pressure range, connection and calibration for your process. Choose a dial gauge for local plant indication, an absolute gauge for residual pressure, or electronic instrumentation for fine and high vacuum. Start with the pressure you need to measure, then check the gas, required accuracy and interface. Vacuum gauge calibration service → · Selection advice: 01692 660 117
Absolute capsule gauges measure residual pressure against an evacuated reference. Relative capsule gauges measure depression below atmosphere. These are different measurement tasks even though both instruments use a capsule.
Pressure reference: absolute pressure is referenced to vacuum; relative pressure is referenced to the surrounding atmosphere. Write the reference alongside the units in your enquiry. Accuracy: a percentage of full-scale deflection (FSD) differs from a percentage of reading. On a 25 mbar full-scale gauge, ±2% FSD means ±0.5 mbar throughout the stated conditions. Check whether that is useful at your normal working pressure. Process compatibility: provide gas composition, vapour, dust and temperature. Check the material of every wetted component against the process. Installation: identify the flange or thread, mounting orientation, available space, power and signal requirements. Send the old model and a photograph when replacing an instrument.
Vacuum gauge questions
Which vacuum gauge should I buy?
Choose by working pressure and process conditions. A relative dial can be enough for a plant check; absolute capsule, piezo, Pirani and ionisation instruments address different ranges and measurement needs. Send Girovac your normal and lowest required pressure for selection advice.
Can I connect a new gauge to my existing controller?
Check the exact model, supply, connector, signal and transfer function. A matching plug or voltage output alone is insufficient. Girovac can help specify a compatible measuring package.
Do you provide calibration?
Girovac offers a vacuum gauge calibration service using approved specialist providers. Specify the test points and certificate requirement so we can confirm the appropriate scope and quotation.
