Measurement and process selection
Cold-cathode ionisation is gas-dependent. The quoted nitrogen performance does not apply unchanged to other gases or mixtures. Contamination, operating pressure and ignition behaviour affect service requirements. Specify the gas load and expected operating pressure rather than choosing solely by the lowest displayed pressure.
The PTR 90 RN uses its Pirani sensor at higher pressures and includes a filament striking aid for cold-cathode ignition. This gives broad coverage in one transmitter; the accuracy is not constant over its entire range.
Analogue or digital integration
Choose the required transfer function and connector for an analogue gauge: FCC68/RJ45 and 9-pin D-sub versions are documented. Digital RS232 and RS485 are separate variants with a 9-pin D-sub. Setpoint, relay and status functions depend on the full part number. Use the corresponding analogue or digital manual; do not treat an RJ45 gauge connection as Ethernet.
The brochure lists GRAPHIX compatibility. Match the gauge variant, controller input, scaling and cable. Browse GRAPHIX ONE, TWO and THREE. Passive COMBIVAC PR-sensor inputs are a different arrangement and must not be substituted for an active PTR connection.
Flanges, service and scope of supply
DN25 KF, DN40 KF and DN40 CF versions have different mounting envelopes and masses. The manual lists approximately 350, 380 and 630 g respectively. Measuring tubes and electronics are serviceable with matching replacements. The quotation should identify the gauge, connection hardware, controller or DC supply, cable and any calibration requirement separately.

For a PENNINGVAC PTR 90 RN quotation, send the required pressure range and units, process gas and vapours, connection, ambient and bakeout conditions, output or communication protocol, cable length and quantity. Include the existing gauge/controller part numbers, required switching functions, power supply and calibration test points. Girovac will confirm the configuration, included equipment, price and availability.
