The COMBIVAC CM 52 is a controller for passive vacuum sensor heads. It combines two THERMOVAC Pirani channels with one IONIVAC hot-cathode channel for rough-to-ultrahigh-vacuum measurement. Select an IE 414 Bayard–Alpert or IE 514 extractor head for the required low-pressure range.

COMBIVAC supplies and evaluates the documented passive sensor heads through their dedicated cables. An active TTR, PTR or ITR transmitter is not a direct substitute for the TR, PR or IE head. Identify the complete head and controller part numbers when replacing installed equipment. For active transmitters, compare GRAPHIX controllers.
CM 52 supports either the IE 414 or IE 514 on its IONIVAC channel. The 2 × 10⁻¹² mbar lower range belongs to the IE 514 extractor arrangement; it must not be quoted for an IE 414 Bayard–Alpert installation. Head, cable, cleanliness and installation conditions matter at these pressures.
Outputs and configuration choices
Use two switching functions per channel, analogue recorder outputs and the selected serial/fieldbus interface to monitor the system. Check the switching range and relay loading against the manual. The documented controller order references are 230115 (RS232/RS485) and 230116 (Profibus-equipped). Gauges and their cables must be specified separately.
UK mains supply and installation
The controller accepts 100–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. Request the correct UK 230 V mains lead: the brochure lists EURO and US cables in its package description. Allow for rear connectors and cable routing; the manual installation depth is approximately 280 mm. Bench, rack and front-panel installation are documented. Confirm any mounting hardware on the quotation.
Compare COMBIVAC CM 51 when choosing between passive cold-cathode and hot-cathode measurement systems.

For a COMBIVAC CM 52 quotation, send the required pressure range and units, process gas and vapours, connection, ambient and bakeout conditions, output or communication protocol, cable length and quantity. Include the existing gauge/controller part numbers, required switching functions, power supply and calibration test points. Girovac will confirm the configuration, included equipment, price and availability.
