The LC 40WR is part of DVP’s LC-WR water-resistant range — 40 m³/h water-resistant rotary vane pump, 1.3 kg/h water vapour. Oil-sealed rotary vane pumps like this one are the workhorses of industrial vacuum: the oil seals the clearances, lubricates the vanes and carries away heat, which is what lets a single-stage rotary vane pump hold a steady working vacuum under continuous duty.

What does WR mean on a DVP pump?

The WR models share the LC body but add a device that separates water condensate from the oil and expels it once the pump stops. That is what lets them run in air streams carrying far more water vapour than a standard pump could tolerate — and it is also why their ultimate pressure is higher. Choose a WR pump for wet duty, not for deep vacuum.
