Applications and selection

The Leybold SOGEVAC SV300 B is an oil-sealed, single-stage rotary vane pump for industrial vacuum and suitable central pumping duties. Its actual pumping speed is 240 / 290 m³/h at 50 / 60 Hz. Select the motor, gas ballast and cooling arrangement around the process and installation.

Key specifications

Ultimate pressure is a manufacturer test value, not a guaranteed pressure at the chamber. Pipe conductance, gas load, temperature and condition affect installed performance.

Gas ballast and process selection

Gas ballast helps handle condensable vapours but changes ultimate pressure. Warm the pump and follow the manufacturer’s vapour-handling procedure. Select inlet protection, lubricant and exhaust treatment for the gas composition; liquid slugs and unsuitable contaminants must be prevented from entering the pump.

The current operating manual labels the ≤0.08 mbar figure as partial pressure, while older overview literature uses a total-pressure label. This page retains the current manual’s terminology. If total pressure is a selection requirement, ask Girovac to confirm it for the exact quoted build.

Motor, cooling and accessories

For a UK installation, confirm the 400 V three-phase motor connection and protective equipment with the selected order code. Electrical installation requires suitable wiring; this is not a standard plug-in 230 V pump. Other motor builds have different ratings. Specify inlet filters, connection adapters, exhaust ducting, monitoring and gas-ballast valves as required. Do not treat optional equipment in a photograph as included. Preserve cooling and exhaust-filter replacement clearance on the drawing.

Lubrication and service

Use the lubricant specified for the exact pump and process. Check oil condition, exhaust filters and maintenance intervals against the instructions. Food-grade or special-fluid versions require their own confirmed order reference and preparation.
