GVPDK5 two-stage rotary vane vacuum pump

The Girovac GVPDK5 is an oil-lubricated, two-stage rotary vane pump with a published pumping speed of 5 m³/h. It is a starting point for compact laboratory and backing-pump enquiries; selection depends on working pressure, gas load and the exact pump version.

Choose by working pressure and evacuation time

Nominal pumping speed does not mean the pump moves the same volume at every inlet pressure. Give us the vessel volume, required pressure, target pump-down time and any continuous gas or vapour load. For a turbomolecular system, the backing pump must also satisfy the turbo manufacturer’s foreline and throughput requirements.

Published specification and version checks

For a replacement, send the existing pump nameplate so we can confirm the appropriate configuration. The brochure gives an ultimate-vacuum figure of 6.5 × 10⁻⁴ mbar with gas ballast closed and 6.5 × 10⁻² mbar with gas ballast; its pressure measurement method is not stated, so these values should not be treated as a total-pressure comparison with another pump.

Oil, connections and maintenance

The brochure specifies GVF70 oil, a 500 ml oil charge and an NW25 intake. Confirm the exhaust connection, electrical supply and supplied accessories separately. Check oil condition and service the pump according to its instructions and process history; an oil change alone may not correct wear or contamination.

It may be considered where its performance meets the turbo’s required foreline pressure and gas throughput. Send the turbo model and process conditions; a nominal flow match alone is insufficient. Read the vacuum selection guides before specifying the combination.

The listed electrical configuration is 230 V, single-phase, 50 Hz. Confirm the exact motor plate and available supply in your quotation, especially for an existing pump or a different production version.
