The VARODRY VD 200 is an air-cooled dry screw vacuum pump for industrial roughing, drying, degassing and suitable backing duties requiring a lower ultimate pressure. The manufacturer’s C5 operating instructions specify 185 m³/h maximum pumping speed without gas ballast and 0.01 mbar ultimate pressure without gas ballast.

The VARODRY VD 200 is an air-cooled dry screw vacuum pump for industrial roughing, drying, degassing and suitable backing duties requiring a lower ultimate pressure. The manufacturer’s C5 operating instructions specify 185 m³/h maximum pumping speed without gas ballast and 0.01 mbar ultimate pressure without gas ballast.
The 200 is the largest capacity in this group at 185 m³/h in the C5 manual. Its standard discharge-pressure limit differs from the smaller models, so assess the exhaust system as part of selection.

The C5 operating manual is used for the ratings above. Some brochures and manufacturer overview pages give different figures for the 160/200 models; confirm the supplied revision and pressure-speed curve with the quotation. Gas ballast and exhaust backpressure affect performance.
Supply, starting and installation
For a UK 400 V, 50 Hz installation, specify the matching three-phase version. These are motor-terminal connections, with supply cable, isolation and motor protection selected for the installation. A domestic plug and mains lead are not assumed. Confirm the full order code, nameplate, phase sequence and starting arrangement.
Allow clear cooling airflow and space for belt and silencer service. Select inlet filtration and exhaust routing for the actual process. Above 1000 m installation altitude, request manufacturer review. An optional external variable-frequency drive must remain within the permitted motor speed; do not assume flow scales linearly with speed.
Gas ballast, purge and application suitability
Gas ballast helps prevent condensation but changes attainable pressure. Water-vapour figures apply only to the stated configuration. Specify water load, cleaning procedures, particles and all process gases; the pump alone does not establish suitability for a complete food process or hazardous atmosphere.
VARODRY reaches a lower no-gas-ballast ultimate pressure than NOVADRY, but the required process pressure must still be assessed under load. Manual gas-ballast and purge-equipped builds need separate selection. Inlet and exhaust seal purge have different functions and require the correct gas supply and controls.
OEM, HD/O₂ and other special builds are distinct configurations. The standard ratings here do not certify oxygen service, ATEX operation or compatibility with corrosive gases. Provide the application for a specific configuration proposal.

For a VARODRY VD 200 quotation, send chamber volume, target pressure, gas and vapour composition, continuous throughput, pump-down time, cycle frequency, inlet and exhaust connections, electrical supply and quantity. Include control, filtration and installation-space requirements. Girovac will confirm the configuration, included equipment, price and delivery.
Confirm the exact version, electrical supply and connections. Ask whether oil, filters, fittings, cables or controllers are included or separately specified.
Availability, lead time and the applicable warranty are confirmed for your quotation. A catalogue listing does not reserve stock.
