View quote listA compact starting point for instrument connections and smaller research chambers, the TURBOLAB 90 combines a TURBOVAC 90 i with station controls and a choice of backing arrangements. Its DN63 inlet suits installations where connection size and available space are important selection factors.
Tell us the chamber volume, target pressure and continuous gas load as well as the desired pump-down time. The pumping speed available at the chamber depends on the connecting valves and pipework, and the backing pump must handle the throughput of the complete installation.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Nitrogen pumping speed | 90 l/s |
| High-vacuum inlet | DN63 ISO-K or DN63 CF |
| Turbo-pump forevacuum connection | DN16 KF |
| Turbo pump | TURBOVAC 90 i |
| Published ultimate pressure, ISO-K / CF | 8 × 10-8 / 5 × 10-10 mbar¹ |
| Mains supply | 110 V ±10% or 230 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz; select the correct configuration |
| System operating environment | Indoors, +12 to +35 °C; consult Leybold above 1,000 m altitude |
| Controls | TPU display and controller; built-in webserver and data logging |
| Gauge capacity | Two compatible gauges; gauges and cables selected separately |
¹ Manufacturer system ratings from the TURBOLAB operating instructions, section 1.3.2. Achievable pressure depends on the backing pump, flange seals, chamber cleanliness, bakeout and gas load. The associated TURBOVAC ultimate-pressure specifications use a two-stage oil-sealed rotary vane backing pump; these figures are not a guaranteed chamber pressure for every dry-backed combination.
The bench format has rubber feet for a fixed work surface. Cart versions have a mobile base for positioning beside the chamber. Move a station only after the turbomolecular pump has stopped completely. Choose the backing pump for the process cleanliness, vapour load and required roughing performance.
| Frame | Backing arrangement | Selection guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Bench | DIVAC 3.0 diaphragm pump | Oil-free backing for the compact bench arrangement |
| Bench or cart | Without backing pump | For integration with a suitable separately specified backing pump |
| Cart | SCROLLVAC 7 plus or 15 plus | Dry scroll backing |
| Cart | ECODRY 25 plus | Dry multistage roots backing |
| Cart | TRIVAC D 4 B or D 8 B | Two-stage oil-sealed rotary vane backing |
| Cart | SOGEVAC SV 16 D | Single-stage oil-sealed rotary vane backing |
Each arrangement is documented with DN63 ISO-K and CF inlet versions. TRIVAC configurations have separate 110 V and 230 V order numbers. Girovac will confirm the complete part number, voltage, included accessories and availability with your quotation. A station supplied without a backing pump requires a suitable connected backing pump before operation.
The TPU provides local system control, configuration and monitoring. Its built-in webserver supports browser-based operation, while logged operating parameters help with reviewing pump behaviour and events. The X1 interface provides configurable digital and analogue signals for remote start/stop and status monitoring.
The system supports up to six accessories and two compatible vacuum gauges. Select high-vacuum and forevacuum measurement separately; documented choices include PENNINGVAC PTR 90/90N and THERMOVAC TTR 91/91N or TTR 101/101N. Gauge heads, connection cables and optional accessories must be specified with the order.
Options include venting and purge valves, cooling equipment, a CF flange heater, a foreline safety valve, adsorption trap and backing-pump exhaust filtration. Choose cooling for the actual gas throughput and ambient conditions. Accessory connections do not mean that all these items are supplied as standard.
Specify the site supply before ordering: the station must operate at the voltage on its nameplate. The mains cable is ordered separately. The documented UK option is the 230 V, 5 m cable with UK plug, part 800103V0037.
Allow room for ventilation, exhaust routing, hoses and maintenance access. The standard station is for indoor use and is not intended for explosive atmospheres. Send details of reactive, corrosive or hazardous process gases so that the complete system and purge arrangements can be assessed.

Use the drawing for the selected frame and backing pump when planning the installation; flange choice and accessories can affect the final envelope.
Compare TURBOLAB 90, 250, 350 and 450 pumping stations. For a component-level installation, see the TURBOVAC 90 i/iX pump page. You can also browse vacuum gauges and instrumentation.
For a TURBOLAB 90 quotation, send the chamber volume, target pressure, process gases and vapour load, inlet flange, backing-pump preference, bench or cart requirement, power supply and quantity. Include your desired pump-down time and any existing equipment you want to retain. Girovac will confirm the configuration, price and delivery details.
For a dry bench station with local control and DIVAC or SCROLLVAC backing, see the Leybold TURBOLAB Core 90. Compare backing capacity, inlet flange, measurement and supply options for your application.
