GVPDK30: two-stage vacuum pumping at 30 m³/h

The Girovac GVPDK30 is an oil-lubricated, two-stage rotary vane vacuum pump with a nominal pumping speed of 30 m³/h at 50 Hz — approximately 500 litres per minute. It suits enquiries for industrial and laboratory vacuum equipment where the required working pressure, gas load and evacuation time call for this capacity.

Choosing the right pumping capacity

Tell us the chamber volume, starting pressure, target pressure and cycle time, together with any continuous gas or vapour load. Pumping speed changes with inlet pressure, and restrictions in pipework, valves and filters affect performance at the chamber. Vacuum performance and gas ballast

The Girovac range specification gives an ultimate vacuum of 6.5 × 10⁻⁴ mbar with gas ballast closed and 6.5 × 10⁻² mbar with gas ballast. The pressure measurement method is unspecified; confirm the required total-pressure performance when comparing pumps or sizing a process. Gas ballast changes the attainable pressure and should be selected around the vapour load.

Power, connections and installation

The reference configuration uses a 1.5 kW motor, a 380/415 V three-phase, 50 Hz supply and an NW40 intake. Confirm the motor nameplate, exhaust arrangement and available supply for the unit being ordered. Allow access for oil checks, draining, servicing and cooling air, as well as space for the connected pipework.

Use the KF/NW fittings catalogue when planning connections. Include the required clamps, centring rings, seals and inlet protection in your enquiry.

Oil and servicing

The GVPDK30 specification lists GVF70 vacuum oil and an oil capacity of 2300 ml. Follow the pump instructions for filling and servicing, and check the current lubricant when arranging a change. Send the serial number and process details when requesting replacement parts, vacuum oil or workshop servicing.

How does it compare with the GVPDK40?

The GVPDK30 has a nominal pumping speed of 30 m³/h; the GVPDK40 is rated at 40 m³/h. Both reference configurations use a 1.5 kW motor and NW40 intake. Compare their oil capacity, weight and performance at your working pressure before selecting a replacement.

Can it back a turbomolecular pump?

For a turbomolecular pumping system, match the backing pump to the turbo manufacturer’s foreline-pressure and gas-throughput requirements. Send the turbo model and operating conditions so we can assess the combination.

Which gauge should I use?
