Packaging equipment needs the required vacuum within the available cycle time. Start with the machine, pack or chamber volume, target pressure and number of cycles. The product being packed also affects the gas and moisture load.
Pump ranges to consider
Compare Leybold NOVADRY dry screw pumps, MIL’S EVISA rotary vane pumps and DVP LC pumps. These are starting points for selection, not interchangeable replacements. For an existing packaging machine, send the original pump reference and the machine specification.
Measure the pressure where it matters
For portable rough-vacuum checks, compare Leybold PV201 and Thyracont VD810. A fixed transducer needs its range, response and output matched to the machine controls. Check the required accuracy near the end of the cycle.
Account for moisture and carryover
Tell us whether the product releases water vapour and whether liquids or particles could reach the vacuum line. Include the cleaning routine and any proposed separation or filtration. Exhaust oil separation applies to suitable oil-lubricated pumps; it is a different duty from inlet protection.
What to send us
Include machine make and model, chamber or pack volume, cycle time, target pressure, existing pump, electrical supply and the nature of the product. For modified-atmosphere or oxygen-containing processes, include the gas composition so the exact equipment can be assessed.
