Repairs & Servicing

We mainly repair Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps and Mechanical Boosters, These repairs are always carried out at our North Walsham workshop by our own engineer. We ask our customer to either deliver the pump to us or we can arrange for it to be collected and brought to our works.

Girovac Ltd does not offer fixed price repairs as this can often lead to unwanted expense for either party if we hit an unexpected snag. Instead we strip the pump and report our findings to the customer. If there are problems that make the pump uneconomical to repair we will advise our customer accordingly. If it can be repaired at an affordable price we will list the cost of labour and parts and await our customer’s go ahead. We endeavour to use the original manufacturer’s recommended parts or high quality equivalent parts if the original manufacturer no longer supports that pump.

• The pumps are thoroughly tested after repair and are not released until good vacuum levels are achieved. Our repairs are all warrantied for 6 months to cover parts and workmanship. This warranty will not cover any customer process related damage.
• We also, of course, repair and calibrate faulty Vacuum Instrumentation at our instrument workshop with Calibration Certificates to National standards.

Pump Servicing is mostly a more simple business where our engineer will visit our customer’s site. He will run the pump and listen to satisfy himself that the pump is generally in good order. He will then carry out the Service schedule requested which will often be an oil change, a replacement oil filter/oil separator cartridge and a replacement drive coupling element. He may comment on the pump’s overall condition and performance for the customer’s information.
